구정이라는 핑계로 2022년을 붙잡고 있었습니다.

2023년의 계획이 구정이라는 핑계로 아직 도마에 오르지 못했습니다.

이젠 정말 핑계가 없게 되었습니다.

 

구정은 새로운 2023년에 대한 기대보다는,

정말 보내줘야 하는 2022년의 아쉬움이 더욱 큽니다.

 

열심히 뛰어다닌 한 해를 보내면서,

새로운 23년을 맞기 전에 아쉬움을 달래 봅니다.

 

아쉬운 만큼이나 아주 긴 곡으로  대신해 주는

잭슨 브라운(Jacson Browne)의 'The Load Out / Stay'입니다.

Intro : 잭슨 브라운(Jackson Browne)

잭슨 브라운(Jackson Browne)은 1948년 독일 태생으로,

3살 때 미국 로스앤젤레스로 이주해 옵니다.

그의 나이 10대인  60년대 초반 Folk음악을 기반으로 기타 연주와 작곡을 시작합니다.​

​

71년 Asylum 레코드와 계약을 체결,

72년 발매된 정규 데뷔앨범 [Jackson Brown]의

'Doctor My Eyes'가 빌보드 8위까지 오릅니다.

 

노래뿐만 아니라 작곡가로서도 뛰어난 그는

72년 The Eagles의 곡 히트곡 'Take It Easy'를 작곡,

본인의 'Dcotor My Eyes'와 'Take It Easy'가 동시 차트 상위를 기록하면서,

노래와 더불어 작곡 능력까지 인정받게 됩니다.

사회 비판운동의 노래를 부르던 그는 76년 그의 아내가 자살한 후

발매한 앨범[The Pretender]을 통해 서정적인 스타일의 음악으로

차트 10위에 올리고 플래티넘 상을 받게 됩니다.

 

이듬해인 77년 발표한 앨범 [Running on Empty] 수록된

'Running on Empty'와  'Stay/The Load-Out' 

투어 도중 실황으로 음반을 짜는 구성을 취하면서 큰 인기를 끌게 됩니다.

이후 80년 발표한 [Hold On]은 차트 정상,

82년 발표한 영화 사운드트랙인 앨범 [Fast Times At Ridgemont High]는

수록곡 'Somebody's Baby'의 인기와 함께  차트 7위까지 오릅니다.

 

83년 앨범 [Lawyers in Love]의 수록곡 

'Lawyers in Love', 'Tender Is The Night', 'For A Rocker' 성공과

86년 앨범 [Lives In The Balance]는 레이건 시대의 비판으로

인기를 끌며 6개월 이상 앨범 차트에 머무는 성공을 이뤄낸다.

이후, 지나친 정치적인 문제와 사회 저항적인 문제들에 대한 노래로

89년 앨범 [World In Motion]부터 대중으로부터 외면받기 시작합니다.

 

하지만, 여전히 미국 70년대 포크송의 대명사로 기억되고 있습니다.

9분이 넘는 아주 긴 곡입니다. 길다고 끊어서 들으면 반드시 후회할 곡입니다.

 

1977년 발매한 [Running on Empty]에 수록된 곡으로,

잭슨 브라운(Jackson Browne)의 자작곡에

미국의 R&B 그룹인 모리스 윌리엄스 & 더 조디악스(Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs)가

1960년에 발매한 *'Stay'란 곡을 결합 한 곡입니다.

팬들과 함께 노래하고 싶다는 내용의 곡입니다.

떠나보내는 아쉬움이 있습니다.

무언가 남겨두고 떠나는 아쉬움도 있습니다.

말하지 못할 때 생기는 후회스러운 아쉬움도 있습니다.

 

아쉬움을 같이 이야기할 가족들을 찾아

조카들에게 줄 세뱃돈과 명절선물을

고속도로의 기나긴 정체와 함께 품고서 달려갑니다.

 

가족과 함께, 한 해를 돌아보며

떠나보내는 아쉬움은 반성과 새로운 기약을 다짐하며

아름다운 설날 명절을 보내시기 바랍니다.
